Renovation Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy
Last updated 19 August 2026
These terms apply to renovation work booked through almond.sg or an Almond representative, whether you (a) book one or more individually priced workscopes (e.g. electrical, tiling, painting, carpentry, plumbing) at our published rates, or (b) hand your renovation to a vetted Almond ID partner under the Almond Guarantee. Where the two differ, the difference is noted below.
1. Inclusions
- 1.1. Supply and installation of the materials and workmanship described in the published scope you selected, at the price shown at the time of order.
- 1.2. Where you engage a vetted Almond ID partner for a full renovation, project management, milestone tracking and the Almond Guarantee’s escalation path for that partner’s work.
- 1.3. Verification of completed work against the published scope before a milestone is marked complete.
- 1.4. Adherence to applicable HDB/URA/BCA regulations, condominium house rules and safety requirements for the trade being carried out.
2. Exclusions
- 2.1. Excludes any Qualified Person (QP), Professional Engineer (PE) or other regulatory submission unless expressly stated in your order.
- 2.2. Excludes structural, hacking or reinstatement work not listed in the scope you selected.
- 2.3. Excludes any security deposit, renovation permit fee or access/lift booking fee payable to your building’s MCST/Management.
- 2.4. Excludes making good of pre-existing defects not caused by the work performed.
- 2.5. Excludes out-of-hours or expedited work unless separately quoted and agreed.
- 2.6. Materials or finishes outside the published scope (e.g. a non-standard tile, paint colour or hardware upgrade) are chargeable at the applicable published rate.
3. Payment terms
Our usual payment schedule per scope or trade is 50% payable before that scope/trade begins, and the remaining 50% payable on completion, unless otherwise stated in your order confirmation (to cover extraordinary circumstances, e.g. an extended or phased project, a scope requiring materials ordered further in advance, or a different schedule agreed with a vetted Almond ID partner for a full renovation). For full-renovation orders placed with a vetted Almond ID partner, payments are held in your favour and released as each stage of work is verified complete.
4. Variations to the works
Any change to the scope you originally agreed, a different material, an added trade, a larger area, is a variation. We’ll tell you the cost (if any) before that variation work begins, and it’s only chargeable once you’ve confirmed it in writing, sent from the phone number, email address or account associated with your order (an in-app confirmation, email or WhatsApp message from that channel is sufficient). Work outside the original scope that you haven’t confirmed this way is not chargeable.
5. Cancellation policy
- 5.1. Cancelling before any materials are ordered or site work begins: any deposit paid, less costs already reasonably incurred on your behalf (e.g. custom-ordered materials), is refunded.
- 5.2. Cancelling after materials have been ordered or site work has begun: you remain liable for the cost of materials ordered and work already completed, in addition to any cancellation fee shown in your order confirmation or contract.
- 5.3. Rescheduling a confirmed site date with reasonable notice does not incur a cancellation fee; late rescheduling may be treated as a cancellation of that milestone under 5.2.
6. Warranty
Workmanship is warranted against defects for a standard 12 months from completion, unless a longer period is stated in your order confirmation. This is separate from, and does not replace, any manufacturer warranty on materials or fittings supplied. If work causes damage to your property, report it to hello@almond.sgas soon as reasonably possible, ideally within 24 hours, with photos of the affected area, item or property from a few angles. Reporting later, or altering the affected area before we’ve seen it, may make investigation harder and could affect the outcome, but doesn’t forfeit your claim outright.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under Singapore’s Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003, see Section 8 of our general Terms of Service.
7. Conditions of use
This work-specific document forms part of, and should be read together with, our general Terms of Service, which sets out the conditions of use, intellectual property terms, liability limitation and governing law that apply to every order.
